New Store Items

I’ve added a couple of interactive memory albums to my store. They make unique gifts for all types of occasions.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The first one I made for a best friend’s wedding later this year. It’s a larger, double-sided album with 12 pages full of pockets, tags, journal spots and photo mats. It measures 9×7 and opens up in two sections. I went with the traditional black and white wedding theme for that one.

The second one is a single-sided album. It has 6 pages full of the pockets, tags, journal spots and photo mats. That one measures 6×8 and was made for a friends baby boys 1st year. I had quite a few photos to go along with it, so was able to personalize it a bit more than leaving the entire thing blank for others to fill in.

Both styles are completely customizable. Basically all you have to do is tell me what colors, themes, etc you want it to be and whether you’d like the single-sided or double-sided style. They are VERY time consuming, so I’m asking to allow 1-2 weeks for creating it, but I promise it will be worth it at the end!

A long time coming…

I know it’s been a while. A lot longer than I had realized, actually. I had spent a lot of time concentrating on my writing at SaidBree.com, designing graphics for my best friend’s fundraiser and playing Guild Wars 2. I guess you could say I have too many hobbies! My biggest problem is that I’ve always been GOOD at a lot of things but never GREAT at anything.

I can’t talk a lot about my current project because it’s actually a present for my best friend, Shannon, who is getting married in October. I can say that it is very involved and I was able to watch the entire series of “Lost” while I was crafting it…. I still have a couple of parts left to finish, but it’s almost done. I’m actually quite pleased with it for the most part, but being the perfectionist that I am there is still some, errr, fine tuning I’d like to do to it first. 🙂 It did however get me revved up on my crafting again. It’s been a lifesaver since I’ve started homeschooling Lexus. Not being able to find another job has been miserable. But in a way, it worked itself out. It’s made it possible for Lexi to do the homeschooling like she asked. She’s already doing so much better, but I definitely have to be home to teach her the lessons.

So I’ll have my crafting to keep me occupied in the downtime. Finding a stay-at-home job would be the answer to my prayers. Even if it wasn’t a full-time gig, just some in-between jobs that kept me afloat. I had so much fun doing the fundraiser graphics, I wish I could get more like that.

Anyway…. back to the point at hand. I am going to be a bit more craft minded in the slow interim, so I’m looking forward to sharing that time with anyone who cares to join me.

I have recently acquired a rather large stamp collection, but since I have rarely worked with them at all my first order of business is to learn as much as I can as far as tips and tricks. I came across this post about Paper Piecing that I thought was really great. A simple enough technique that adds patterns as well as layers. You should definitely check it out!

I guess that’s about it for now. Just wanted to drop in and say a quick “Hello” to let everyone know I didn’t really drop off the face of the planet. See ya next time.

Jot Magazine

Stumbled across this post on one of the blogs I follow and soooo glad I did. I have been looking for a magazine that is geared more toward memory keeping smash style instead of all the million same ‘ole scrapbooking mags out there. This one is absolutely perfect. And instead of just showing you lots of pictures, they actually go into detail as to HOW they achieved the design. Very user friendly, too. You should definitely check it out.

Ohmygerd!

YEAY! It’s like Christmas came early. I got meh super mega pack of stamps from Peachy Cheap. I LOVE them. If you haven’t signed up for their daily email, you must do it. DO IT NOW. Every day they offer just one item for a super cheap price and once its gone, its gone. I got all 4 of these sets for $9.99. mme_20kc_20stamp_20main A previous order I got was 4 pads of 8×8 DOUBLE SIDED papers (48 sheets EACH) for $13.99. They would’ve cost about $9.99 each if I had bought them in the store. So, definitely worth it. And hey, if you don’t like what they offer, no harm no foul!

I am going to use them for a mini album I came across on YouTube from Kathy Orta. You start out with a blank notecard/envelope set and it turned out so awesome I am dying to try it for myself. I’ll need 24 envelopes and 24 cards I think to complete it.

I may not be around again as I am gearing up for NaNoWriMo. The whole month of November will mostly be devoted to writing my novel (ha ha! I didn’t finish the last two November’s so I doubt I’ll finish it THIS November, but it’s worth a shot!) 50,000 words in 30 days is MORE than a challenge, but it’s exciting while it lasts. October is spent planning & plotting and getting all my ducks in a row. Then, come November 1 it’s rally time! Eat, sleep, write… eat, sleep, write… so wish me luck! 😀

That’s it for now.

xoxo,

Breezy

It’s official!

Okay, so nothing really new & exciting, but I am officially a .com now! Woot. Well, at least my store is anyway. I’m still working on all the finer points, but BisforBreezy.com is up and running. So you can LIKE me on facebook to stay updated on any new items I put up. 😀

As soon as I get everything situated, I’m going to be offering up some free goodies, so make sure you FOLLOW me!

NEW ITEMS!!

So, my little bitty corner of the web is barely getting any recognition. Which is not really surprising, I wasn’t expecting a huge turnout or anything, but still, it’s always a bit disappointing when the worst possible scenario actually happens. Right now, crafting is my only source of income, so I wish there was a way to spread the word more. Of course, with all the Etsy shops out there, I don’t have much chance of catching attention with my storenvy store. I mean, you log on to Etsy and you have everything at your fingertips. Storenvy is the basically the same thing, but FREE. It’s an easy, cute little setup, and best of all, no paying per listing like you have to on Etsy. But then again, you don’t get the exposure, either. I did add a couple of new items, though.

A new Framed Shadow Box Baby Subway Art . The Shadow Box measures 8.5″ x 8.5″ and is completely personalized with your (or whoever the gift is for) baby’s stats. Makes a great gift.Red Framed Baby Subway Art

Then, there’s a 9×8 Hand Deco Notebook. Matching pen is attached to the front with a velcro seal, there is an inside front pocket, it includes a moveable corner bookmark, 2 matching mini clips and each section is tabbed and has labels to personalize.

I will be making quite a few of the Notebook/Journals. They are very time consuming, (especially since I am a perfectionist & cannot stand even the slightest imperfections) but there’s something relaxing about making them at the same time. Especially when they are personalized.

Grand Opening!

I’m sorry I haven’t posted much lately. I obsess back and forth between my crafting and my writing. Once I get hooked on one, I usually focus all my attention on it until I get bored and switch back to the other, lol. Well, I’ve been on this zombie kick and when the inspiration hits, I better gets to writing! …. but now I am once again super crafty diva wannabe. I even opened my own little store, B is for Breezy. (<—- gee, original, huh? lol) I know it’s not much, but it’s also not everything. I am adding bits at a time. It takes a lot of time to photograph the products. My biggest challenge has been in getting the colors in the photos as close to the real life colors as I can. That in itself is irritating. I’ve tried every thing I can think of… white light, outdoor light, yellow light, using the flash vs. no flash… Nothing seems to come out decent so I have to fudge with the settings until I get it to match. So if anyone has any pointers, PLEASE feel free to share them!

Also… I don’t know if any of you have ever visited the site The Making Spot, but if you have, you’ll be sad to know that they are shutting it down as of Sept 30th… so if you have any of the free tutorials or templates you want to save to your computer, DO IT NOW!!

Now that I’m back on my crafting kick for awhile, I will be posting more frequently, so keep in touch by +following me! And if you DO decide to visit my little shop, let me know what you think. Is it easy to navigate and is everything stated clearly about the products? If there’s anything you think needs to be added or fixed, please let me know. 😀

Thanks lovelies!

Happy Friday the 13th….. ooooohohhohooooo.
